Our Commitment to Quality & Transparency
At Cowabunga Daily, your health and well-being are always our top priority. We hold our products to the highest standards of safety and quality — every batch is tested for heavy metals and produced in FDA-registered facilities that follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
While our ingredients come from nature — and nature sometimes contains trace elements like lead or other minerals — we rigorously test to ensure our products remain safe, nutritious, and responsibly sourced. No changes to our formulas are required by law, and we proudly stand behind the purity and quality of every Cowabunga product.
What is Proposition 65?
California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, better known as Proposition 65 (Prop 65), requires businesses to notify consumers if their products could expose them to any of over 900 substances identified by the State of California as potential causes of cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm.
The limits for these substances — including naturally occurring heavy metals — are set at extremely low levels, often much lower than federal or international safety standards. The purpose of the warning is not to indicate danger, but to help Californians make informed choices about their exposure.
Because some of our natural ingredients may contain trace amounts of minerals like lead that appear on the Prop 65 list, we are required by law to include the above notice. You’ll see similar warnings on products throughout California — from restaurants and coffee shops to grocery stores and supplements.
Heavy Metals & Food
Tiny amounts of heavy metals are found naturally in soil, water, and plants — meaning they appear in many everyday foods. In fact, a five-year FDA study (2014) found measurable levels of heavy metals in a wide variety of common grocery items. Our products, made from real, plant-based ingredients, can contain similar trace levels — but always within or below what’s typical in a balanced diet.
